MATAMBA IMMERSIVE INCUBATOR TO SUPPORT FEMALE CREATIVE TECHNOLOGISTS IN ZIMBABWE.

2

The Matamba Immersive Incubator is a new program that seeks to support three Zimbabwean female creative technologists in the development of their work in immersive new media (XR/VR/AR). The program is supported by the Culture Fund of Zimbabwe and funded by the Delegation of the European Union to Zimbabwe.

The incubator will provide the selected artists with training in a variety of new media skills, as well as mentorship from experienced VR/AR experts. The artists will also have the opportunity to connect with other creatives from around the world and to share their work with a wider audience.

The culmination of the program will be the premiere of the artists’ work at the Matamba Immersive Art Festival in October 2023. The festival will showcase the work of emerging and established artists from Zimbabwe and around the world who are working in immersive new media.
